S.M.O.L. Event: The Incident

Premise: Five years ago, the Earth experienced the S.M.O.L. Event (Selective Molecular Orbit Limitation) when cosmic radiation from a passing meteoroid caused a permanent size reduction to 5% of the world’s population. Those unaffected by the meteoroid were discovered to lack a seemingly benign gene, while those carrying the gene underwent irreversible changes, resulting in a world where some individuals are now only a few inches tall. The world is adapting, some for the better, some for the worse.
